Harvest Online Horticultural Monitoring and Control Systems Features

Frost G2 System

Online Data. Each system has its own configurable web page. Weather trends are visible at a glance as well as complete weather history. All weather data is archived and can be downloaded from your site in csv or plain text format at any time. During a frost event you will be able to see your data coming in every minute. Under non-alarm conditions data is reported back every 30 minutes with 10 minute logs.

Alarms. The system sends message up to up to four messages (text messages, voice messages or emails) when the temperature drops to the alarm level set by the customer. Other alarms can also be configured: a second temperature alarm, battery voltage alarms, high wind, high temperature etc.

Pump Monitoring and Remote Control. Monitoring of pump status, pipe pressure and power status. Automated and/or remote control of pumps.

Investors. The normal daily weather data is a great way for shareholders to see what is happening at their investment site.

Versatile. We have yet to find a orchard or vineyard where a Harvest system can't be installed. The combination of solar power cellular or Iridium satellite modem and the tough weatherproof enclosure provide maximum versatility.

Wireless Temperature Sensors No wires to install or get damaged! Standard Short Range Remotes (SRRs) have a typical range of up to 300 metres (330 yards) while the Long Range Remotes (LRRs) and Extended Long Range Remotes (XLRs) have a typical range of up to 2km (1.3 miles). No long runs of cable means the sensors can be installed in a few minutes and placed at the coldest and warmest locations so you can get a good idea of the temperature profile during a frost event.

Growing Statistics. The system calculates Growing Degree Days for your site during growing months, and Richardson Chill Units during the winter months.

Calculated Weather Variables. Calculated values such as Dew Point, Wet Bulb, Evapotranspiration, Wind Chill and Bacchus Botrytis risk calculations are available. Some of those calculations do requires the installation of sensors like solar radiation or leaf wetness.

Rain and Wind Sensors. The standard combination for all G2 systems are the NIST approved Davis anemometer and 0.2mm (0.01 inch) rain gauge. Updated rainfall totals are available at a glance. Wind data is always useful with both average and gust calculations.

Humidity Sensor. With the addition of a relative humidity sensor both dew point and wet bulb calculations are available.

Soil Moisture and Temperature Sensors. Aquaflex and Acclima soil moisture sensors can be added to the system. Multiple sensors can be connected to either the G2 base station or to Long Range Remotes (LRRs) or Extended Long Range Remotes (XLRs).

Wind Machine Monitoring. Many vineyards and orchards that have Harvest systems are now monitoring their wind machines/frost fans. Engine run station, rpm and battery voltage are common parameters.

Other Sensors. Any system can be equipped with a range of other sensors including solar radiation (used for evapotranspiration - ET), leaf wetness, barometric pressure, water depth sensors and water pressure sensors.
The system can also monitor a range of other sensors including flow meters and a range of other analog and digital input sensors most of which can be monitored by hard wiring to the base system or by the use of Long Range Remotes (LRRs).

Quick View. A special Quick View page is available for on-the-spot management during the operation of wind machines, sprinklers or even in the cockpit of a helicopter. This web page shows the latest temperatures and the temperature trends.

Smartphone and Tablet Compatability. Webpages are accesible via most smartphones friendly webpage.

Optional Password. Your data can be password protected if that's what you need, or you can share the information with your neighbours and in fact the whole world.

Large Sites. With Long Range Remotes (LRRs) and Extended Long Range Remotes (XLRs) there are no problems reaching every corner, dip and high point of your site. With a range of up to 2km (1.3 miles) the wireless remotes give a maxiumum coverage of up to 1,250 hectares (3,100 acres). In some cases a repeater may be required for properties with multiple terraces or hills.
